Wallaby - Diseased or Injured

Description

Attended with Terry at a quarry situated at 185 Loemans Road, Bulla and which is not far from Organ Pipes National Park for a report of a wallaby with an ulcerated face.

Attended and easily caught swamp wallaby once located. Quite debilitated and weak. Severe maggot infested lesion on right side of face.

Taken to All Creatures Vet at Sunbury for euthanasia.

Contacted Pam Whiteley, Wildlife Health Surveillance Victoria and advised of same. Blood taken prior to euthanasia and body to be collected for further examination by Pam.
